Pastor Mark Hager and his wife Cindy are former career Police Officers in the St. Louis area and is now the Lead Pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Kirksville Missouri.  Pastor Mark is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and he holds a Doctorate of Practical Theology (Biblical Counseling) with Master’s International Divinity School.  He is the Director of Counseling for the From The Heart Biblical Counseling Center and is currently completing his PhD in Biblical Counseling with Trinity Theological Seminary in Newburg Indiana.  Additionally, he holds counseling certifications with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (NANC.org), and the International Association of Biblical Counselors (IABC.net). He is also a charter member of the Association of Biblical Counselors (www.christiancounseling.com). He is a workshop teacher with NANC (NANC.org)  and has written many counseling articles to include being published as “contributing author” with Harvest House Publishers in the book, “The Popular Encyclopedia of Apologetics.” 

Pastor Hager has served the district as New Start Director and currently serves as the District Men’s Retreat Director.   He also is founder of the Auto-Care ministry International (an outreach & caring ministry of service & repairing vehicles for single moms and widows) that was featured in GROW magazine in 2005 with the Church of the Nazarene. He and His wife Cindy are counselors at the From the Heart Biblical Counseling & Training Center in Kirksville Missouri. Both Pastor Mark and his wife Cindy are conference speakers on evangelizing through counseling and other practical issues in biblical counseling.  Pastor Mark is a passionate evangelist, as well as being known for his successful “no nonsense” model of family and individual counseling.  The Hager’s continue to provide FREE faith-based counseling to qualified applicants as a community service since 2002 and are deeply involved in teaching other pastor’s and laymen to counsel from the Scripture. The Hager’s team concept of biblical counseling has helped numerous families and individuals as they continue to faithfully counsel and evangelize the communities where they have lived and served.

Pastor Mark & Cindy have 6 boys and 13 grandchildren.
